I feel like this needs to be said. A certain comedian from one of the known comedy group here in PH-with the initials R.D.-has a history of predatory behavior. This may have happened a long time ago, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be held accountable. Time passing doesn't erase what he did.
R.D. has a pattern of cornering women in his car and pressuring them to let him kiss them or touch their breasts. Most of them said no, but when you're trapped in a car with someone who refuses to take no for an answer, what can you really do? He even justified it by claiming that a coerced "yes" still counts as consent. That's not just manipulative-it's outright predatory.
I've also heard that he's in a relationship now, which honestly just makes me feel sorry for his partner. I can only hope she knows the kind of person she's with.
This didn't happen to me personally, but I believe the women who have spoken up about him. And I believe he should face consequences. People like this shouldn't get to move on like nothing happened. If you or someone you know has experienced something similar, you're not alone.
Stay safe, and never let anyone convince you that pressure equals consent.
